Registration System is Now Open
by posted 09/26/2017

Register for our Instructional ($35) and Recreation ($65) basketball programs, or register online for Travel Try-outs (free to Try-out).  Season information is available under News, in our FAQ, as well as in our Fall Flyer under Documents.

Note on Travel: the Club asks that all parents pre-register their player(s) if they are trying out for Travel ball - it allows us a look at expected turn-out, it takes care of the waivers for participating, and it aids team formation and communication given that pre-season Travel practices start the week after Try-outs.  Again, Travel Try-out registration is free.

HBBC Fall Flyer 2017-2018
by posted 09/04/2017

The Hollis Brookline Basketball Club has published its flyer to tip off the 2017-2018 season.  In it you will find information on our Instructional (K-2nd grade), Recreation (3rd-9th grade), and Travel (3rd-8th grade) programs, including registration dates, try-out/assessment information, and season duration.

New for 2017-2018: Our Instructional program is offering separate sessions for boys and girls at the 1st and 2nd grade levels.

Also, it introduces our Open Gym offering to all 3rd-9th graders for a three-week period starting at the end of September.  Each age group, split between boys and girls, will have two sessions per week available to them the weeks of 9/25, 10/2, and 10/9.  We understand that many are involved in fall activities/sports but we are happy to offer optional, fun offering for those that can't wait to get out there and play some ball with friends.  The Club is now lining up coach facilitators and a schedule will be published shortly.

HBBC Board Position Open
by posted 05/29/2017

A Board position with the Hollis Brookline Basketball Club is opening up.  We would like to hear from anyone who is interested in the role of Recreation Director.  Our goal is to transition to the new individual by the important August planning timeframe.

The role of Recreation Director was established last year when we formed the Club, and we've been very fortunate to have Kristy Trombley in the role during that all-important formative time.  We are sad to see her transition off, but happy for her in her new professional endeavors.  She was a great teammate and dedicated volunteer who developed and led our Rec programs, parterned with neighboring towns to form Souuhegan Valley Basketball, and cheered with the best of them from the sidelines.  Thank you, Kristy!

The foundation is in place for another strong Rec program for the 2017-2018 season, and there will be plenty of Board members and coaches to help make it successful, but there is always room for the ideas and energy that others can bring.  The point is that nobody should feel overwhlemed in the position nor should they feel like they are just there to run the railroad either.  As Board members we got involved to make a difference and there are opportunities to do so year after year to keep HB youth basketball thriving.

Email us back if you have interest or questions.  Again, full participation in monthly Board meetings by August is our goal but we'd certainly encourage an early transition period, as well, if the right candidate comes around and is ready to get started sooner rather than later.
